The wall elements of the common building for Kiviõli Rescue Board and the Police and Border Guard Board in Ida-Viru county received relief mould surface finish. Just as the field of construction is constantly changing and evolving, by streamlining construction processes and looking for new architectural options suitable for the environment, great attention is also paid to innovative, durable and aesthetic surface finishing options.

The relief mould surface finish is being used more and more frequently for pre-cast elements, because it allows for the architects' vision to be carried out in high precision. This is a rapidly developing finishing method, which has been popular due to its endless possibilities.
The relief mould surface of elements is achieved by pouring concrete into special moulds. The result is a concrete surface with a unique pattern, which is often inspired by different materials such as metal, stone or wood. At the same time, complex patterns can also be created by using different textural forms, thus giving the concrete elements an artistic appearance.

The building's architects from Novarc Group and architects Martin Aunin and Katrin Kõlu have perfectly captured the integral nature of the building when designing the common building for Kiviõli Rescue Board and the Police and Border Guard Board. They have created an attractive and eloquent exterior, where the relief mould surface finish with stripes and dominant red, conveys the essential function of the building.

The common building for Kiviõli Rescue Board and the Police and Border Guard Board was commissioned by Riigi Kinnisvara AS. In E-Betoonelement, sales engineer Neeme Kasela, project manager Toomas Böttcher and production manager Hans Süld took care of smooth production, successful project management and sales communication.

The beautiful and impressive Mustamäe Hobby School building amidst greenery has facades that catch everybody's eye and provide inspiration for those attending the school as well as those passing by.

E-Betoonelement's Sales Manager Erik Albert: "We are very grateful to our cooperation partners CES, Acto Konsult, KUU arhitektid, RAMM Ehitus and Mitt&Perlebach, thanks to whom the Mustamäe Hobby School building became a reality. From the beginning of the design to the completion of the building, our cooperation was founded on close communication. There were also several challenges in the construction process, but our communication reflected the commitment and extensive experience that led to the completion of a beautiful and functional building.
The facades of Mustamäe Hobby School are an excellent example of how architecture can be not only aesthetically pleasing, but also meaningful. The facades feature human figures, with exposed aggregate concrete finish, which refer to multiple activities of the hobby school world. These figures are formed from several separate elements, which, when put together (by two or four elements), form complete images. They tell the story of the building and blend into the human-friendly urban environment of Mustamäe.
As for technical side, we should also point out that the creation of facades was also a complex task in terms of engineering, because the elements were up to 4.5 meters high, which meant additional challenges in manufacture, transportation and installation. Of course, the installation phase was particularly challenging as the parts of the human figures had to fit together perfectly, and our installation manager Marko Haabjärv did a great job with it."

The lively facade and impressive appearance of the Mustamäe Hobby School invite you to discover the possibilities offered by the new building.

Do you know what concrete elements and art have in common - they are linked by creative freedom! Finishing options used in element construction provide architects and builders an excellent starting point to create buildings that blend into the environment while remaining beautiful and modern even years after completion. Read below on how the building's purpose of use can be wisely linked to its appearance. Concrete wall art is produced with factory quality - polished surface, brick tile surface, smooth mould surface and relief mould surface with maximum possibilities - are just a few examples of how to turn the surfaces of buildings into carriers of messages.

Polished surface

Polished surface (terrazzo) is an elegant finishing method where the concrete surface is polished to provide a smooth and shiny finish. It gives the building a luxurious and modern look and brings out the texture and colour of the concrete. The polished concrete surface is durable and suitable for both indoor and outdoor conditions, bringing artistic charm and elegance to a room or building. Automated production under factory-controlled conditions makes the process simple and fast. See the references here: Polished surface (terrazzo)

Brick tile surface

Brick tile surface is a finishing method that gives concrete walls a classic and timeless look by showcasing the texture of brick. This finishing method provides the concrete surface the brick-like relief and look, thereby creating a visual effect that stands out from conventional concrete walls. Brick tile surface is well suited to both modern and more traditional buildings, while giving the opportunity to play with contrasts and colour patterns. You can use both smooth-surfaced, newer and old-fashioned bricks, as well as bricks with a rough surface. See the references here: Brick tile surface

Smooth mould surface

Smooth gray mould surface is a minimalistic finishing method that leaves the concrete surface with a smooth and natural appearance. This finish gives concrete walls a modern and stylish look and emphasizes the natural beauty of concrete. The use of pure gray concrete allows the buildings to blend into the surrounding environment and emphasize their unique and clear architecture. While it is often thought that this is the easiest way to pour concrete, in fact, achieving a uniform gray surface is one of the most complex processes in the factory. You can learn more about the finishing method here: Smooth mould surface

Relief mould surface with maximum possibilities

Relief mould surface is the most versatile finishing method, which can be used to give the concrete surface a relief and artistic look. This finishing method allows to apply complex patterns, textures and shapes unto the concrete surface, thereby creating a unique and eye-catching visual effect. Relief mould surface finish enables you to give the building's exterior an artistic complexity and turn the building into a real architectural masterpiece. Find out more about the surface finish and references here: Relief mould surface

In summary, we can say that concrete elements and art are united by creative freedom. By using various finishing methods such as polished surface, brick tile surface, gray mould surface or relief mould surface, builders can give concrete walls a unique, artistic look that reflects the purpose of the building. By using the finishing options, the buildings can be creatively and beautifully integrated into the surrounding environment, providing an aesthetic experience even years after completion. Just like art, the abundance of precast concrete construction finishes enriches the surroundings with a new dimension, making buildings truly unique and outstanding.
