Estonian Association of Architectural and Consulting Engineering is organizing a training on how to use the IFC model. The training will take place on 7 and 16 December 2022 from 9.30 am to 12:45 pm in Ülemiste City, ZAPP Conference Center Espoo Seminar Room, Lõõtsa 6, 2nd floor.
The training is designed for construction consultants (designers/architects, owner supervision authorities, building design experts), as well as other parties active in the construction sector and interested in the topic. Previous experience with IFC files and/or BIM models will be useful but not mandatory.
The training is conducted by Taavi Liiv.
BIM is not merely a 3D model but a form of collaboration that is supported by innovative technologies. The training does not focus on teaching how to create models. The focus is on using the models already created, starting with how designers could export models to IFC, how team members could interact with model, and ending with how to read models on the construction site from both the volume chart and smartphone views. Training will help designers better understand the needs of the builder and client and supervision consultants improve their ability to read the model. The emphasis is on showing that 20% of the model consists of a visual and 80% consists of data and workflow that we do not see at first glance! Read more about using BIM in the element manufacture HERE.
For participation, pre-registration is required until 6 December:

After completion of the training, the participants will receive an electronic certificate and 5.8 continuing education points by the Estonian Association of Civil Engineers.
