The architectural solution of the building was created by Krook &amp; Tj\u00e4der. The music studio in Sweden owes its beautiful and unique look to the automated concrete element finishing line used in the E-Betoonelement Harku factory. The production line that uses cutting-edge technology allowed us to produce polished and sleek wall elements for the building, as well as various structural surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Special award: Mary Kay Music Studio<\/strong>&nbsp;in M\u00f6lndal, Sweden.<br>Concrete elements: E-Betoonelement O\u00dc.<br>Comment of the jury: \u201eFor a consistently innovative approach in implementing design solutions for concrete elements.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"797\" height=\"988\" src=\"https:\/\/betoonelement.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aare-Lessuk-voidetud-auhinnaga_Mary-Kay-eripreemia-betoonipaeval.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17494\" srcset=\"https:\/\/betoonelement.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aare-Lessuk-voidetud-auhinnaga_Mary-Kay-eripreemia-betoonipaeval.jpg 797w, https:\/\/betoonelement.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aare-Lessuk-voidetud-auhinnaga_Mary-Kay-eripreemia-betoonipaeval-490x607.jpg 490w, https:\/\/betoonelement.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aare-Lessuk-voidetud-auhinnaga_Mary-Kay-eripreemia-betoonipaeval-768x952.jpg 768w, https:\/\/betoonelement.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aare-Lessuk-voidetud-auhinnaga_Mary-Kay-eripreemia-betoonipaeval-10x12.jpg 10w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 797px) 100vw, 797px\" \/><figcaption>Mr. Aare Lessuk ,Quality Manager of E-Betoonelement, with the special prize for the concrete surfaces of the Mary Kay Music Studio on the Concrete Day<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A brief overview of all the winners.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Estonian Concrete Building of the Year 2021<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;<strong>Port of Tallinn Cruise Terminal.<\/strong><br>The main prize, architecture \u2013 Salto AB O\u00dc (Maarja Kask, Ralf L\u00f5oke, Ragnar P\u00f5llukivi, Marja Viltrop, Margus Tamm) and Stuudio Tallinn O\u00dc (Villem Tomiste).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Client: Tallinna Sadam AS<br>Constructor: Sweco Projekt AS<br>General Contractor: YIT Eesti AS<br>Concrete works: Azelta Projekt O\u00dc, Savekate O\u00dc, Ideia O\u00dc<br>Concrete: Framm AS, Betoonimeister AS, Rudus AS<br>Concrete products: Narva-Bark AS, VMT Betoon AS, Muuga Betoonelement AS, Mammut Element O\u00dc<br>Formworks: Ramirent Baltic AS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chairman of the jury, Aadu Kana: \u201eAS Tallinna Sadam has done a great job of opening up the previously closed Tallinn seaside area to the public as well as to our guests in an attractive way.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Special award: Riia-Vaksali street traffic junction\u2019s bridge and tunnels, Tartu.<br><\/strong>Architecture: PART O\u00dc (Sille Pihlak, Siim Tuksam).<br>Comment of the jury: \u201eFor outstanding concrete architecture in creating a fluid and inclusive infrastructure design and an urban landmark.\u201d<br>The chairman of the jury, Aadu Kana: \u201eThe plasticity of concrete has an important role in achieving a strong and effective architectural form.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Special award: Tabasalu School, Harjumaa.<br><\/strong>Architecture: Pelle-Sten Viiburg (Doomino Arhitektid O\u00dc).<br>Comment of the jury: \u201eFor creating a functionally complete school building with impressive concrete exterior wall elements and thoughtful details.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special award from the Estonian Association of Civil Engineers was awarded to Stricto Project O\u00dc \u2013 the head designer of the constructions of the Riia-Vaksali street bridge and tunnels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special award from \u00c4rip\u00e4ev newspaper was awarded to Nordecon AS \u2013 the general contractor of the Kindluse School project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Estonian Concrete Building of the Year competition, organized for the twenty-second time this year, has been launched to introduce the public to the wide range of uses for concrete and to recognize people who have used the domestic building material, the opportunity-rich and well-formable concrete, in their projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s competition received 16 works.
