The Estonian Concrete Society (ECS) and the Association of Construction Material Producers of Estonia (ACMPE) has announced the contest of the \u201eConcrete Building of the Year 2012\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Though the construction industry has not yet fully recovered from the recent crisis, there are plenty of new buildings to be completed this year that can successfully compete in our contest,\" said Vaido Leosk<\/strong>, the chairperson of ECS. \"In contemporary construction, the use of concrete is very varied. We hope that the contest will point out some new and exciting approaches to concrete as an easily moldable domestic construction material,\" he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The competition is intended to contribute the development of concrete architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \"The goal of the contest is to introduce and recognize the effective concrete buildings and their authors to the wider audience,\" explained Peeter Kokk<\/strong>, the CEO of ECS. \"The buildings which are entered in the contest have to be houses or facilities that are completed and handed over to the customer during 2012 and that have not been submitted to our contest before. He also added that structures and construction proceedings can be submitted as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The object or procedure wins, where a significant contribution has been made by the work of registered enterprisers in Estonia and concrete materials delivered from Estonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The main prize belongs to the author of the winning idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The jury includes representatives from the Estonian Association of Architects, the Estonian Concrete Association, the Estonian Association of Civil Engineers, the Estonian Association of Construction Entities, the Estonian Building Materials Manufacturers Association, the Estonian Project Bureaus Association, the Kunda Nordic Cement and construction journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The deadline for submissions is 1 Dec 2012<\/strong>. a. The Estonian Concrete Association and the Estonian Building Material Manufacturers Association have been organizing a competition for identifying the best concrete constructions for twelve years.
